Following the successes of eight annual BSN workshops held
at Imperial College in London (2004, 2005), MIT in Boston (2006), RWTH Aachen
University (2007), Chinese University in Hong Kong (2008), the University of
California at Berkeley (2009), Singapore (2010), and the University of Texas at
Dallas (2011), the Body Sensor Networks (BSN) conference was brought back to
Imperial College between 9th and 12th of May 2012.
The ESPRIT group hosted a workshop on Pervasive Sensing in
Sports and Extreme Environments at the in conjunction with the ninth annual
Body Sensor Networks conference (BSN 2012). The workshop was selected to complement the main conference
and aimed to provide a forum for academia, industries and governing bodies to
exchange ideas, promote merging research directions, and present novel
applications. Related tutorials were organised that were designed to provide
participants the opportunity to complement the scientific programme with an in
depth exploration of engineering topics, to gain new insights, knowledge, and skills,
and to learn from the leaders in the field. More details on the conference is
available at www.bsn2012.org.
